Raimon Santacatalina (Vilafranca del Penedés, Barcelona 1969)
My admiration and respect for nature comes from my childhood, traveling for many years through the Pyrenees, hiking through fields and natural spaces with my parents and brother.
My interest in photography comes from my father, who gave me my first camera at the age of 15, a Pentax Asahi Spotmatic SP II.
My love of nature photography began in 2006, when I bought my first digital SLR camera, a Canon EOS 10 D, plus a couple of low-end Sigma lenses, from then on my learning began, which is self-taught at all times. , registering in various forums, reading books, viewing photos and of course trying with the camera.
In 2007 I began to change my team for a more professional one, in order to meet my needs.
In 2010 I became a member of AEFONA (Spanish Association of Nature Photographers) and in 2017 of WWF Spain (World Wildlife Fund) with whom I collaborate with my photographs.
In 2019 he joined the international agency Naturimages as a photographer.
I practice different photographic disciplines (fauna, macro, landscape, night ...) always related to nature, which is what excites me the most.
Some of my photographs have been published in magazines, books, audiovisuals, etc ... I have also obtained some awards and recognitions in national and international competitions.
With my photographs I try to transmit and make people aware of the beauty and magic that nature offers us, I believe that Nature Photography is an essential tool for its conservation.
